The things that I observed during this Pandemic

 

                             On the 30th of January Covid, 19 arrived in the Philippines, And on March 17 2020 Our government declared a state calamity. After the declaration came the quarantine. Where it all started to fall for everyone. People started to lose their jobs, students weren’t allowed to go to school, and elders and kids could not leave their houses. People started hoarding groceries and other necessities needed to stay at home. Then for the first week of the quarantine, it was fun for the students because they didn’t have to worry about their schoolwork and they could play all day long. From there mobile games started to blow up along with Tiktok, YouTube, and other entertainment apps. A lot has happened and after a year of quarantine most of the people wanted to go out but can’t, and everyone was struggling because they don’t have any funds or any source of income. And most people were only relying on the government for the Ayuda. People became agitated because they didn’t know what to do.

                        Then people started to do their own business some started streaming, and vlogging and some were lucky to find a job. Call center companies started to hire people and new small businesses started to flourish. Online shopping has become more widely known and it became a hit. Some succeeded in their business ventures and some were unlucky. But since they had perseverance, they tried and tried until they succeeded. As the saying goes “try and try until you succeed”. This taught us Filipinos to be more resourceful and not to rely on their jobs because you can lose them in just one day. But with business as long as you have the motivation to continue doing it no one can stop you.

                       The students some of them became depressed because of the stress of school works, somewhere happy and some just didn’t care about it at all, as long as they can pass it’s fine. Students started online and modular learning after almost 2 years of alternative learning most of the students are complaining. Because there are students who are struggling. Some student doesn’t have an internet connection so they use mobile data, but with online learning mobile data doesn’t last long since there is no school work that needs to be done and meeting that needs to be attended to every day. Also, they don’t have the financial means to afford to buy mobile data every day thus they struggle with their schoolwork. The students who chose modular learning also struggle because some students can’t understand or comprehend what is written in their modules. And some teachers are unresponsive and pressure their students to pass it on time when they can’t. Aside from they don’t understand the lesson sometimes they also don’t have the money to travel or commute to school to get/pass their modules, and because of this pressure, they get depressed, which sometimes leads to students committing suicide.

                    A lot has happened in this pandemic and it taught us lessons that we can’t forget. It taught us to appreciate small things and to treasure our family. It taught us to fight and have patience, perseverance, and faith. Because in this pandemic we lost a lot of our countrymen. This taught us more about Bayanihan and appreciating small things, and loving our family unconditionally. In this pandemic, we fought as a nation and still fighting off Covid 19.
